Roofing in Buda, Texas

Buda has managed something hard: it has grown up without giving up its small-town feel. The historic downtown still looks the part, and even the newer subdivisions have a neighborhood rhythm that a lot of places have lost. None of that makes a Central Texas hailstorm any easier on your roof.

Buda (that's BYOO-duh, as every new resident learns pretty quickly) sits right between Austin and Kyle on I-35, and it has somehow managed to keep a small-town feel even as the city has grown. The historic downtown near the railroad tracks still feels like a little Hill Country town, while newer master-planned communities like Garlic Creek, Shadow Creek, Bradfield Village, and Sunfield surround it with thousands of newer homes. A lot of those newer neighborhoods are now in the 12-to-18-year roof age bracket.

A Note From the River People

Onion Creek runs along the north side of Buda and on into southeast Austin. The creek is part of the Colorado River basin, and it's the same Onion Creek that flooded catastrophically in 2013 and 2015 in the Dove Springs area — a reminder that Central Texas creeks can go from bone-dry to dangerous fast. We think about drainage and gutter sizing a little differently when we work on homes in Onion Creek's floodplain or upstream of it.

What We Do in Buda

3 Rivers Roofing offers a full range of exterior services to homeowners and property owners in Buda. Below is the short version of each — if you want the long version, click through to the dedicated service page.

Roof Replacement

Roof replacement in Buda means doing the job the right way: tear-off down to bare decking, inspect and repair anything rotten or sagging, install the full modern system (synthetic underlayment, ice and water shield, drip edge, starter strip, field material, ridge vent, ridge cap), and leave the property cleaner than we found it.

Roof Repair

Repair work is the unglamorous side of roofing, and it's where a lot of Buda homeowners get taken advantage of. We do repairs right: honest assessment, written estimate, correct materials, warranty on the workmanship. If your roof doesn't need replacement, we'll tell you that.

Standing Seam Metal

Standing seam metal is the longest-lasting roof you can put on a Buda home. We install both snap-lock and mechanically-seamed (double-crimp) standing seam systems in 24-gauge Galvalume with Kynar 500 finishes that hold their color through decades of Texas sun. A metal roof installed correctly in Buda will likely be the last roof your home ever needs.

Atlas Shingle Roofing

Shingle roofs in Buda don't all have to be created equal. We install Atlas Pinnacle Pristine architectural shingles with HP42 technology, Class 3 impact resistance, a 130 mph wind warranty, and 3M Scotchgard Protector against algae streaks. The full system — not just the shingles — is what makes the difference.

Seamless Gutters

We install custom-formed seamless gutters on Buda homes as a standalone project or alongside roof replacements. Heavy-gauge aluminum, factory-baked color finishes, hidden hangers driven into solid wood, and downspouts sized for the actual roof area — not one-size-fits-all.

James Hardie Siding

James Hardie siding is a long-term upgrade for Buda homes — and when it's installed correctly, it's one of the last exterior updates a home will ever need. We install to Hardie's specification down to the last fastener and finish detail.

We also handle commercial roofing for Buda-area warehouses, retail properties, churches, and multi-family buildings. For Buda property owners and facility managers, we install TPO, modified bitumen, standing seam metal, and commercial shingle systems on warehouses, retail centers, churches, and multi-family buildings. Commercial roofs have different failure modes than residential, and we approach them accordingly.

About Buda — and Why We Love Working Here

Buda has about 7,000 housing units, heavily weighted toward single-family homes in subdivisions built after 2000. The city's rapid growth means a big chunk of the housing stock is all roughly the same age — which means roofing needs tend to come in waves.

The Buda economy is anchored by Cabela's, Buda's retail corridor on I-35, Hays CISD, and commuters to Austin. When we work in Buda, we work on homes owned by people who depend on those employers and on the stability of this community — and we approach every job with that in mind.

Buda is 15 minutes from our San Marcos office. We're up there regularly, and between Buda and Kyle we probably spend more time on I-35 than on any other road.

Have questions before scheduling an estimate? Our FAQ page answers the most common questions we hear from Buda homeowners — on materials, insurance claims, warranties, timing, and more.

Rivers, Roofs, and Why It Matters

Onion Creek eventually finds its way to the Colorado, and Buda sits right at the top of that drainage. As a company named after three rivers, we pay attention to where water goes — at the creek scale and at the gutter-downspout scale. Both matter.
